Úvodní slovo k aktuálnímu číslu, které se zaměřuje na cihly, nenapsal nikdo jiný než Michal Cihlář. Ten se již více než 40 let věnuje technice barevného linorytu, kolážím a fotografování, a jak sám říká, k cihlám si během svého života vytvořil silnou citovou vazbu.
Použití cihly je vlastně jakási hra – hra s barvou, dekorem –, jejímž výsledkem jsou rozmanité stavby, například The Arches, řada městských domů s charakteristickými oblouky, které vyrostly v Londýně na místě bývalé čerpací stanice a které navrhlo studio The DHaus Company. S barevností cihel experimentovala také architektka Lina Ghotmeh, jež se svým týmem vytvořila ateliéry módního domu Hermès ve francouzském městě Louviers.
